CARAMEL CANDY 
3 c. sugar
1 c. Karo
3 c. cream
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. nuts

Mix sugar, cream of tartar, salt, Karo, 1 cup cream and cook over medium heat to soft ball stage. Slowly add second cup of cream and cook to soft ball stage. Add third cup of cream and cook to hard ball stage. Add nuts and vanilla and beat until begins to thicken. Pour into buttered dish.
