PAP'S CHOP SUEY | |
4 lbs. onions, diced 1 lg. bunch celery, diced 3-4 lbs. beef-pork-veal (all or either) 1 lg. can bean sprouts 1 lb. fresh mushrooms, sliced 2 bottles LaChoy brown sauce 1 lg. bottle soy sauce (LaChoy) 1 lg. can water chestnuts Cube meat and simmer slowly, do not brown too deeply, keep it tender. Cook until not quite done. Dice celery and onions. Cook until well done while meat is simmering. Add all ingredients together and simmer until meat is tender. Delicious with mashed potatoes or rice. We top it with crunchy Chinese noodles. You may thicken chop suey with cornstarch if it is too thin. |
