TOAD - IN - THE - HOLE 
1 lb. sausage links
1 c. all-purpose flour
1 c. milk
2 eggs
1 tsp. salt

Oven temperature: 425 degrees. Grease thoroughly 9 x 9 inch metal pan. One hour ahead: Beat together flour, milk, eggs and salt. Set aside in a cool place.

Preheat oven; heat greased pan in oven for a minute or so until very hot. Remove pan from oven and immediately pour in batter. Place sausage links in batter and return pan to oven. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes until the batter is puffed and golden brown. Serve immediately with brown gravy.
