PEANUT BUTTER COOKIES 
1 c. soft shortening
1 c. granulated sugar
1 c. brown sugar
2 eggs, well beaten
1 c. peanut butter, creamy kind
1 tsp. vanilla extract
2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt

Cream together granulated sugar, brown sugar and shortening. Add eggs, peanut butter and vanilla. Sift together flour, soda and salt. Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture and blend well.

Shape into balls the size of walnuts and bake on greased cookie sheet. Flatten with fork to about 1/4 inch thickness and bake in preheated oven. Temperature at 350 degrees. Yield 4 dozen cookies.
