SOUR CREAM POUND CAKE | |
2 sticks butter 1 c. sour cream 1/4 tsp. baking soda Pinch cream of tartar 6 eggs 3 c. sugar 3 c. flour 1 tsp. baking powder Flavoring: Use one of the choices listed below: 2 teaspoon vanilla or lemon extract or 1 teaspoon almond extract. Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Mix flour with baking soda, baking powder and cream of tartar. Cream butter. Slowly cream in sugar and beat well. Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in sour cream and extract. Add dry ingredients and beat well. Bake in a bundt pan that has been greased and sugared. Bake 1 1/2 hours at 325 degrees. Remove from oven and let sit 15 minutes. Loosen from edges of pan and remove to wire rack to cool. |
