HOLIDAY NUT CAKE 
2 sticks butter, softened
4 eggs
1 tsp. baking powder
Pinch of salt
1/2 c. chopped nuts
2 c. sugar
1 c. sour cream
2 c. unsifted flour
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. maraschino cherries, sliced

Blend butter and sugar; beat in eggs one at a time. Mix flour, salt and baking powder together and add alternately with sour cream to butter and sugar mixture. Beat well before folding in nuts, cherries and vanilla. Bake in buttered tube pan for one hour at 350 degrees. Slice very thin and serve with whipped cream.
