WAIKIKI MEATBALLS | |
1 1/2 lbs. ground beef 2/3 c. cracker crumbs 1/3 c. minced onion 1 egg 1/4 tsp. ginger 13 1/2 oz. can pineapple tidbits 1/3 c. green pepper 1 1/2 tsp. salt 1/4 c. milk 2 tbsp. cornstarch 1/2 c. brown sugar 1/3 c. vinegar 1 tbsp. soy sauce Mix together the beef, cracker crumbs, onion, egg, salt, ginger and milk. Form into balls and brown in 1 tablespoon butter until done. Mix cornstarch, brown sugar, vinegar and soy sauce into the syrup of the pineapple tidbits. Boil 1 minute, while stirring. Add meatballs and pineapple tidbits and green pepper. Heat together and serve over rice. |
