1 c. sugar
3/4 c. shortening
1 egg
1/2 c. milk
2 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 level tsp. baking soda
3 c. flour

If it doesn't seem like enough flour, add a little, but remember not too much, cause you flour your board. Roll 1/8 to 1/4 inch thick and cut out as desired. Bake at 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes.
