BRITISH BANNOCKS
According to Druid belief you always stir the batter from East to West, the way the sun travels, to make them as good as they should be.

1/2 c. rolled oats (quick or regular)
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tbsp. granulated sugar
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
2 eggs
1 c. milk
1/2 c. currants or raisins or chopped nuts or any dried fruit

Combine dry ingredients and mix well. Combine eggs and milk; beat until frothy. Then add to the dry ingredients. Then add fruit or nuts; mix well.

Spoon about 2 tablespoons of batter onto a lightly greased hot griddle. When many bubbles appear on top, turn over and cook on the other side until done through the center.

Makes about 12 (3 inch) bannocks.

The recipe looks good, but since the Druids left no written records, how do you know which way they stirred the batter?

I love this recipe, and so does my family. We usually have it on Holyday mornings, or as a delicious emergency dinner :D As for the directionality of the stir...east to west is the path of positivity, gathering of energy, as well as the path of light (notably, the Sun). So it can be inferred that the Druids would have stirred anything that needed stirring from East to West for it's beneficial properties. Does that answer your question, James?

Who said all the Druids were gone? My family loves this bread and it's so simple to make. I serve it for breakfast or toasted w/jam.
