MOM'S CAKE WITH PIE FILLING | |
2 sticks butter 1 1/2 c. sugar 4 eggs, beaten 2 c. flour 1 tsp. vanilla flavoring 1 tsp. lemon flavoring 1 (21 oz.) can pie filling (your choice of fruit) Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream butter, add sugar, then eggs. Add flour, vanilla and lemon flavoring. Grease and flour jelly roll pan. Pour batter into pan. Mark batter lightly with knife, dividing equally into squares. Into each square place a dollop of pie filling. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes. Allow cake to cool. Sprinkle with powdered sugar (especially effective to use cherries at Christmas or Valentines). |
