DOUGHNUT MUFFINS 
1/3 c. Crisco
1 1/2 c. sugar, divided
1 1/2 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 c. milk
1 egg
1 tsp. cinnamon

May use butter in place of Crisco.

Mix 1/2 cup sugar with cinnamon. Cream Crisco with 1 cup sugar. Sift together flour, baking powder, salt and nutmeg. Add egg to sugar mixture, add milk and flour alternately; mix well. Fill paper muffin cups 1/2 full. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes. Frost when cool or spread the tops with butter when warm and dip in cinnamon sugar.
