PERSIMMON COOKIES 
1 c. persimmon pulp
1 c. sugar
1 c. raisins or dates
1 c. nuts
1 egg
1/2 c. shortening
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt

Cream together sugar and shortening. Mix soda with persimmon pulp. Sift together dry ingredients. Add eggs to shortening/sugar mixture. Stir in persimmon pulp and dry ingredients. Add raisins or dates and nuts. Drop by teaspoonfuls on lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake in 350 degree oven for 10 minutes or until done.
