PEAR PIE 
4 c. sliced pear
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. cloves
1/8 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. cornstarch
2 tbsp. butter
1 tsp. lemon zest
1 (9") pie crust for bottom; strips for top

Spread softened butter over bottom of crust and sides of crust to prevent sogginess. Fill in with pears; sprinkling rest of mixture as you layer. Dot with 2 tablespoons of butter. Bake 10 minutes at 450 degrees, then 30-35 minutes at 350 degrees.
