JUNE MOON WALNUT CAKE | |
1/2 c. Crisco 1 1/2 c. sugar 3/4 c. milk 2 c. all-purpose flour, less 1 tbsp. 2 tsp. baking powder 3/4 tsp. salt 1 tsp. lemon flavoring 1/2 c. chopped walnuts 4 egg whites Blend together Crisco, sugar, lemon flavoring and salt. Beat until light and fluffy. Add milk alternately with flour sifted with baking powder. Fold in walnuts. Fold in egg whites beaten stiff but not dry. Bake in two "criscoed" 8 inch layer pans in moderate oven (350 degrees) 25-30 minutes. |
