CARAMEL ROLLS | |
3/4 c. milk 1/2 c. sugar 1/2 c. butter 1 pkg. yeast 1 1/2 tsp. salt 2 eggs, beaten 1/2 c. warm water 5 to 6 c. flour (leave dough a little sticky) TOPPING: 1 c. brown sugar 1/2 c. butter 2 tbsp. corn syrup Pour scalded milk over sugar, salt and butter in a bowl. Add eggs. After milk mixture has cooled to lukewarm, dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup of warm water and add to previous mixture. Fold in flour, cover and let rise. Roll out dough. Baste with melted butter. Sprinkle with white and brown sugar and cinnamon and a few pats of butter. Roll longways like a jelly roll. Cut into separate rolls (with a string). In 9 x 12 inch glass baking dish sprinkle topping, place cut rolls in dish. Let rise again (covered). Bake at 350 degrees until golden. Delicious! |
