ETTA CLARK'S GINGER COOKIES | |
2 eggs 1 c. sugar 1 c. shortening 2 c. molasses 1 c. milk 8 c. (more or less) flour 2 tsp. ginger 1/2 tsp. cloves 1 tsp. cinnamon 2 tbsp. baking soda 1 tsp. salt Mix eggs, sugar, shortening, molasses and milk until well blended. Add flour (reserve 1 cup), spices, soda and salt mixture to wet ingredients. Mix well. Add rest of flour as needed to make rollable dough. Roll 1/4 inch thick and cut with any shape cutters. Put on greased cookie sheet at least 1/2 inch apart. Bake 8 minutes at 350 degrees until dough is set and slightly browned. (May sprinkle with sugar before baking.) |
