DANISH PASTRY APPLE BARS 
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 c. shortening
1 egg yolk
Enough milk to make 2/3 c. with egg yolk
2 c. crushed corn flakes
8-10 apples, sliced
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 egg white

GLAZE:

1 tbsp. water
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. powdered sugar

Mix flour, salt and shortening; then add milk and egg yolk to make pie crust. Roll half of dough to fill 10 1/2" x 15 1/2" jelly roll pan. Sprinkle crushed corn flakes over dough in pan. Arrange sliced apples over corn flakes; sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon. Roll out other half of dough and place over top, pinching edges to seal. Beat egg white stiff and brush over crust. Bake at 400 degrees for 60 minutes. While warm frost with glaze.
