HOME STYLE CORNBREAD 
1 1/2 c. stone ground yellow corn meal
1/2 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 c. buttermilk
2 tbsp. shortening

Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Melt 2 tablespoons shortening in the oven in a 10- inch cast iron skillet. Mix all dry ingredients together by hand until blended. Add eggs and buttermilk. Mix all ingredients together by hand until blended.
