3 pkgs. yeast 6 tbsp. lukewarm water 3/4 c. lard 3 eggs 6 tbsp. sugar 1 1/2 tsp. salt 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla 3 c. milk Flour Put yeast and water in small pan and let stand while mixing other ingredients. Warm milk, sugar, melted lard, vanilla and salt, then add well beaten eggs and yeast mixture. Add flour to make stiff dough, let rise until double in bulk. Roll and cut. Let rise again. Drop in hot fat and fry. While warm, dip in glaze. 1 box powdered sugar 1/2 c. boiling water 1/2 tsp. vanilla Makes about 6 dozen. |
