BEEF AND BROCCOLI 
1 lb. broccoli sliced into small pieces
1/4 lb. flank steak, sliced
1/2 tsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. sherry
Pinch of baking soda
1 tsp. cornstarch
1/4 c. water
1 tsp. soy sauce
1/2 tsp. cornstarch
2 garlic cloves, crushed
1 tbsp. oyster sauce
1/2 tsp. sugar

Marinate meat for 30 minutes in the soy sauce, 1/2 teaspoon sugar, 1/2 teaspoons cornstarch, 1/2 teaspoon sherry, baking soda and garlic. Clean the broccoli. In a skillet or wok, add 1 tablespoon oil and brown 1 garlic clove.

Discard garlic. Add broccoli and water. Cover and cook 2 minutes. Remove and set aside. Add beef and stir fry until the red is almost gone. Add broccoli, oyster sauce, 1 teaspoon cornstarch and 1/2 teaspoon sugar and bring to a boil. Serve.
