TAMALE PIE
1 lb. hamburger
1 can corn, drained
1 c. olives, sliced
2 c. tomato sauce
1 c. chopped onion
1 c. green peppers, diced
1 clove garlic, minced
1 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
Pepper to taste
2-3 tsp. chili powder
1 1/2 c. Cheddar cheese, grated

In large skillet, brown hamburger. Season to taste. Add tomato sauce, corn, olives, onions, green peppers, and spices. Simmer over low heat 10 minutes. Prepare a corn meal mush in a 2 quart saucepan by mixing together the following: 2 cups cold water, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and 3/4 cup corn meal. Cook over medium high heat until it thickens. Remove from burner and cool slightly. Butter a 9 x 13 inch baking dish. Spread most of the corn meal mush in bottom of dish (save back some to dab on top). Pour meat mixture over mush layer. Dab more corn meal mush on top. Then add grated cheese last. Bake at 325 degrees for 20 minutes.
