GRANDMOTHER'S SOFT CHOCOLATE
CHIP COOKIES
 
1 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
4 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. cocoa powder
1 c. milk
3 eggs
1 c. nuts
1 c. raisins

Bake slowly 325-350 degrees for 10-12 minutes.

1. Cream together shortening and sugar until smooth.

2. Add eggs and cocoa.

3. Sift dry ingredients together alternately with milk into creamed mixture beginning and ending with dry ingredients.

4. Fold in chopped nuts and raisins. Drop on greased pan.

Not carnation mixed with sugar and dry milk just plain cocoa.
