NESTLE'S CHOCOLATE COCONUT KISSES (FROM 1940) | |
3 egg whites 1 1/2 cups confectioners' sugar 1 tbsp. all-purpose flour 1/2 cup shredded coconut flakes 1 tsp. vanilla 1 (7 oz.) Nestle's Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar Cut chocolate into pieces the size of a pea. Sift sugar and flour together. Beat egg whites until stiff. Gradually sprinkle sugar and flour mixture over egg whites and continue beating. Add vanilla, chocolate and coconut. Mix together. Drop by teaspoonfuls on greased cookie sheet. Bake in 500°F oven for 10 minutes or until light brown in color. Allow cookies to cool slightly before removing from sheet. Source: Reading, PA Eagle newspaper, Jul 16, 1940.
