TOMATO SAUCE | |
1 lb. hamburger 1 med. onion, chopped 1 clove garlic, pressed 1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes 1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce 2 tbsp. dried parsley flakes 1 tsp. sugar 1 tsp. dried basil leaves 1/2 tsp. salt 1 1/2 tsp. dried oregano leaves Cook ground meat, onion, and garlic in 10 inch skillet until light brown; drain. Add tomatoes (with liquid), tomato sauce, 2 tablespoons parsley, the sugar, oregano, basil, and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Heat to boiling, stirring occasionally; reduce heat. Simmer, uncovered, until mixture is consistency of thick spaghetti sauce, about 1 hour. |
