WALNUT SAUCE 
1/4 c. softened butter
1/4 c. firmly packed light brown sugar
3/4 c. light corn syrup
3/4 c. walnuts
2 tbsp. water

Cream butter and brown sugar in a medium saucepan. Stir in syrup and nuts. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture comes to a full boil, then boil for 3 minutes or until mixture reaches 234 degrees. Remove from heat and stir in water. Serve hot over steamed pudding. Makes 1 1/2 cups.
