HOMEMADE GRANULATED SOAP | |
1 can lye 3/4 c. borax 3 qt. cold water 4 1/2 lb. melted fat Dissolve lye in cold water in crock or granite dish pan. Using wood spoon to stir. When dissolve, add borax. Slowly add melted fat, stirring slowly for 10- 15 minutes. Continue to stir off and on for 24 hours. The soap will be white and granulated. Spread out onto paste board boxes or other container and let dry well for at least a month before using. Store in tight containers. |
