CRANBERRY CANDY | |
1 can cranberry jelled sauce 1/4 c. water 2 pkg. orange Jello 1 c. sugar 2 c. walnuts, broken 1 tbsp. plain gelatin Heat cranberry sauce to soften. Soften gelatin in 1/4 cup water to make 1/3 cup then stir into the cranberry sauce, add the orange Jello and sugar. Stir over medium heat until sugar is dissolved and candy has come to a boil and stir occasionally, about 10 minutes. Add nuts and pour into 8 x 8 inch pan that has been lined with foil and buttered. Let stand for 24 hours. Turn out on sugared board. (Half powdered sugar and half confectioners' sugar.) Peel off foil and cut into squares. Cover candy with sugar and let stand for 48 hours. Roll in sugar again before serving. Stores well. |
