AMISH SHOO - FLY PIE 
CRUMB MIXTURE:

2 c. flour
3/4 c. brown sugar
1/3 c. lard, butter or shortening
1/2 tsp. nutmeg, optional
1 tsp. cinnamon, optional

Mix above ingredients together thoroughly in bowl until crumbs are formed.

SYRUP MIXTURE:

1 c. molasses
1/2 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1 c. hot water
1 tsp. baking soda (dissolved in hot water)

In separate bowl, mix syrup ingredients thoroughly. Pour half of the syrup mixture into unbaked pie crust lined 8 inch plate, then add half of crumb mixture, repeat with the other plate. Bake at 400 degrees for 10 minutes. Then reduce heat to 350 degrees and continue baking for 50 minutes more.
