FARM HOUSE COOKIES | |
1 c. shortening or butter 2 c. sugar 2 eggs 1 c. sour cream or buttermilk 1 tsp. vanilla 1/4 tsp. baking soda 4 tsp. baking powder 4 1/2 c. flour 1/2 tsp. salt 3/4 c. nuts Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time (continuing to beat). Add cream and vanilla. Sift dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture. Roll on floured surface (fairly thickened). Place on cookie sheet. Sprinkle with nuts. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 to 18 minutes. These cookies should be large, soft, and thick. |
