HOTTER THAN HELL CHILI | |
1 1/2 med. onions, chopped 1 med. green pepper, chopped 1 rib celery, chopped 1 sm. clove garlic, minced 1/2 tsp. chopped jalapeno pepper 3 tbsp. oil 4 lb. ground meat 8 tbsp. chili powder 1 tbsp. ground cumin 2 tsp. garlic salt 1/4 tsp. Tabasco Salt and pepper 1 (12 oz.) can beer (use only 8 oz.) 1 1/4 c. water 1 (14 1/2 oz.) can stewed tomatoes 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce 1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste 1 (4 oz.) can diced green chilies 1 bay leaf Saute first 5 ingredients in oil until onion is clear. Add beef and saute. Combine next 5 ingredients with 8 ounces of beer. Let stand 1-2 minutes. Add beef mixture and remaining ingredients to meat mixture. Simmer, covered, 3 hours, stirring often. |
