MOLASSES - OATMEAL COOKIES 
1 1/4 c. sifted all-purpose flour
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ginger
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. unsulphered molasses
2 eggs
1 1/2 c. quick oats, uncooked
3/4 c. raisins
3/4 c. chopped nuts

Set oven at 350 degrees. Sift flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and spices into bowl. Add remaining ingredients and blend. To make jumbo cookies, use 1/4 cup dough for each cookie; place on ungreased baking sheets and bake 15 minutes. For smaller cookies, drop by heaping teaspoons and bake 12 minutes. Recipes should yield about 18 large cookies or 48 small ones.

These taste like oatmeal cookies flavored with molasses. If you use black strap molasses, the cookies taste like molasses cookies with oatmeal. I like it both ways!
