OREO COOKIE CAKE 
1 lb. Oreo cookies
1 c. melted butter
1 (8 oz.) cream cheese, soft
2 (8 oz.) Cool Whip
1 c. sugar
1 lg. pkg. instant chocolate pudding mix

Crush cookies. Measure 1/2 cup crumbs and set aside. Mix remaining crumbs with butter and press into 13 x 9 x 2 inch cake pan. Refrigerate 1 hour. Mix cheese, sugar and 1 container Cool Whip in mixer bowl until well blended. Spread over cookie crust.

Prepare pudding according to package directions, but use 3 cups milk. Spread over cheese mixture. Spread second container of whip over pudding and sprinkle with reserved crumbs. Garnish with maraschino cherries, if desired. Keep refrigerated.

Variation: Substitute vanilla pudding and peanut butter cookies; just as good.
