PEANUT BUTTER OATMEAL COOKIES 
3/4 c. butter flavor Crisco
1 c. peanut butter
1 1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 c. water
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
3 c. Quaker Oats, uncooked
1 1/2 c. all-purpose
1/2 tsp. baking soda
Sugar, granulated

Beat first 3 ingredients until creamy. Add water, egg and vanilla. Add all dry ingredients. Mix well. Cover. Chill about 2 hours. Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Shape into 1 inch balls. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Flatten with tines of fork dipped in granulated sugar to form crisscross pattern. Bake 9 to 11 minutes or until edges are golden brown. Cool. Yield: 7 dozen
