CHILI CON CARNE 
1 lb. ground beef
1 c. chopped onions
3/4 c. chopped green pepper
1 clove of garlic
1 (16 oz.) can chopped tomatoes
1 (16 oz.) can dark red kidney beans
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
2 tsp. chili powder
1/2 tsp. basil
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper

In large pan, brown ground beef, onion, green peppers and garlic. Drain fat. Stir in drained tomatoes, drained kidney beans, tomato sauce, chili powder, basil, salt and pepper.

Bring to a boil. Reduce heat. Cover and simmer 20 minutes. Serve plain or with steamed rice.
