DEBBIE'S PECAN COOKIES 
2 cups self-rising flour
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened
1 large egg
1 cup chopped pecans
pecan halves (1 per cookie)

Preheat oven to 350°F.

In a large bowl combine flour and sugar. Then add softened butter and egg. Chop pecans up into small pieces then fold into the mix.

Prepare two cookie sheets. Use an ice cream scoop to place cookie dough on sheet pans. Flatten cookie dough with a spatula or palm of your hand. Top with pecan halves placed in the center, one for each cookie.

Bake at 350°F for 12 to 15 minutes.

Makes 18 to 24 cookies.
