ONION CASSEROLE 
2 tbsp. butter
3 or 4 lg. vidalia onions
1/2 lb. Swiss cheese, grated
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 can cream of chicken soup
1/4 c. milk
Sliced cubed bread for topping, buttered

Cut onions into rings; saute in butter until soft and clear. Place in 2 quart shallow dish and spread top with cheese. Sprinkle with pepper. Beat soup and milk in same pan onions were cooked until soup mixture is smooth, then pour over top of cheese. Cut through as sauce goes down to onions on the bottom. Place buttered bread on top overlapping if needed. Cover and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes, then uncover and bake 15 minutes more. Good with grilled steak or chicken.
