DIETERS DELIGHT CORN PONES | |
3 c. corn meal 1/4 c. sesame seeds 1/4 c. sunflower seeds 1/2 tsp. salt (if seeds are salted, omit) Slightly more than 1/4 c. corn, sesame or olive oil 1 3/4 c. boiling water Various seasonings or spices according to taste Put all ingredients together; add boiling water and oil; stir. Batter should be fairly stiff to be easily formed by hand without clinging to fingers too much. (Too much water will make soggy cakes after baking, too little will cause the batter to fall apart while forming). Preheat oven to 350 degrees, let batter cool some. Oil cookie sheet and hands. Form. The thinner, the crunchier, thicker will make chewier. Bake approximately 25 minutes. Will be crisper if flipped over while baking. Heated honey may be brushed on top. |
