SUGAR CREAM PIE | |
3/4 c. granulated sugar 2 1/2 c. half and half milk 1/4 c. brown sugar 1/4 c. cornstarch 1/2 c. butter 1 tsp. vanilla extract 1/8 tsp. ground cinnamon 9 inch lightly baked pie crust Preheat oven to 325 degrees. In saucepan combine granulated sugar, 1/8 tsp. salt and half and half. Bring to boiling stirring occasionally. In saucepan, combine brown sugar and cornstarch. Gradually whisk in hot half and half mixture. Add butter, cook mixture, whisking constantly 5 minutes or until boiling and thickened. Simmer 1 minute. Stir in vanilla. Pour mixture into pie crust, sprinkle with cinnamon. Bake 20 minutes. Pie will be loose but will thicken on cooling. |
