RAISIN BARS 
2/3 c. raisins
6 tbsp. apple juice
1 tbsp. vegetable shortening
1/2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/8 tsp. nutmeg
1/8 tsp. ground cloves
1 1/2 tbsp. chopped pecans or walnuts

In a small saucepan, bring apple juice, raisins and shortening to a boil. Remove from heat and cool. Mix remaining ingredients and stir into the raisin sauce.

Spray a baking pan with oil cooking spray and spread dough evenly. It will be thin.

Bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes. Remove to a rack to cool. Cut into 8 rectangles.

Yield: 8 servings - 1/8 recipe each. Calories: 109. Cholesterol: 0. Exchanges: 1/3 bread-starch, 1 fruit, 1/2 fat.
