ALMOND BLUES | |
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, melted 1 cup confectioners' sugar 1 egg 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract 1/2 tsp. almond extract 1 tsp. baking soda 1/4 tsp. salt (Morton is best) 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour (I use Ceresota unbleached) 4 drops blue food coloring Melt butter in microwave 'til a yellow liquid, and then pour in a large bowl. Add confectioners' sugar and cream the butter and sugar. Crack one egg in separate bowl and mix well before adding it in to the large bowl. Mix well. Add almond and vanilla extract into the large bowl. Mix well. Add all dry ingredients in. Mix well 'til a fine dough. Drop 4 drops of food coloring into the dough. Knead the dough in hands until it is a blue dough. Put in 350°F oven for 14 to 17 minutes. Keep in oven till it is hard. If it is still soft, leave in oven for another minute or so. Note: Use all the mixture one time, don't store in refrigerator, it will spoil. Leave out to cool for 5 minutes before eating. Enjoy! Submitted by: Chase Nilson |
