CHRISTMAS CRANBERRY SALAD 
1 can (1 lb.) whole cranberry sauce & liquid
1 c. boiling water
1 pkg. strawberry Jello
1 tbsp. lemon juice
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. mayonnaise
1 apple, diced
1/4 c. chopped nuts

Heat cranberry sauce; strain and reserve liquid. Mix liquid, boiling water and gelatin until completely dissolved. Add lemon juice and salt. Chill until slightly thickened. Add mayonnaise and beat until fluffy, then fold in the cranberries, apple and nuts. Stir. Chill until firm.

May be molded in glasses or tins for a candle-like gelatin, if desired. When firm, unmold and insert half of a birthday candle in center.
