RAISIN SWEET BREAD | |
1/4 c. warm water 1 pkg. dry yeast 3/4 c. warm water 3 tbsp. sugar 1 1/2 tsp. salt 1 egg 3 1/2-4 c. flour 3 tbsp. Crisco 1/2 c. raisins (washed) 2 tbsp. sugar 1 tsp. cinnamon Dissolve yeast in the 1/4 cup warm water. Mix all ingredients, except 2 tablespoons sugar and cinnamon. Knead 5-10 minutes. Let rise 1 hour. Punch down. Let rise 1/2 hour. Roll dough and roll out to oblong shape. Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon. Roll up. Cut and put into 2 bread pans. Let rise until double in size. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. If desired frost with powdered sugar frosting. |
