ICY CUCUMBER PICKLES 
2 gallons cucumber slices
1 c. household lime
2 gallons water
4 lbs. sugar
1/2 box mixed pickling spice
1/2 gallon vinegar
2 tbsp. salt

Soak cucumbers in lime and water 24 hours. Remove and wash. Soak in clear water 4 hours. Cook sugar, pickling spice, vinegar and salt to a syrup. Add cucumbers. Simmer 2 1/2 hours. Pack in sterile jars. Cover with syrup and seal.
