NEW ENGLAND BOILED DINNER | |
4 lb. corned brisket of beef 8 whole carrots 4 lg. potatoes, pared & halved 1 lg. turnip, pared & cubed 1 1/2 lb. fresh green string beans Salt & pepper Place beef in large kettle, cover with hot water. Cover tightly and simmer about 3 1/2 hours or until tender. Add carrots, potatoes, and turnips. Cover and simmer about 30 minutes. Add string beans and simmer 20 minutes longer. Makes 8 servings. |
