BREAD OR DINNER ROLLS 
2 tbsp. soft shortening
1 pkg. active dry yeast
1 c. warm water (not hot)
2 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
2 1/2 c. sifted flour
1 egg

In large bowl, dissolve yeast in water. Stir in sugar, salt and half the flour. Beat until smooth. Add egg and shortening. Beat in remaining flour until smooth. Scrape down the sides of the bowl. Let rise in warm place until double in size, approximately 45 minutes. Grease pan or muffin tins. Shape and let rise again. Brush with melted butter. Bake in preheated oven at 400 degrees for 15-20 minutes.
