BUTTERMILK CORNBREAD 
1 c. cornmeal
1/2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. sugar
1 egg
1 c. buttermilk
1/2 tsp. baking soda
2 tbsp. oil

Mix cornmeal, flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar together. Add soda to milk, stir it a little and pour into mixture, add oil and unbeaten egg, beat real good with spoon. Pour into pie plate size pan. Bake at 425 degrees about 20 minutes.
