CHERRY WINK COOKIES 
2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking powder
3/4 c. butter, softened
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
2 tbsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. nuts
1 c. finely cut dates
2 2/3 c. corn flakes, crushed to 1 1/3 c.
15 maraschino cherries, cut into quarters

Stir together flour, salt and baking powder; set aside.

In large bowl, beat butter and sugars until light and fluffy. Add eggs; beat well. Stir in milk and vanilla. Add flour mixture. Stir in nuts, dates and 1/3 cup chopped cherries.

Using level tablespoon of dough, shape into balls. Roll in crushed corn flakes. Place about 2 inches apart on greased baking sheet. Top each cookie with a cherry quarter. Bake at 375 degrees about 10 minutes or until lightly brown. Yield: 4 dozen. About 170 calories per 2 cookies.
