SPAGHETTI MEAT SAUCE 
2 lg. onions
3 tbsp. butter
2 tbsp. oil
1 sm. green pepper, chopped
1 clove garlic, chopped
1/4 lb. mushrooms, chopped
4 tbsp. parsley, finely chopped
Salt & pepper to taste
1 lg. can tomato sauce
2 (1 lb.) cans stewed tomatoes
Several sausage links, cut up & browned (optional)
2 1/2 lb. ground round
1/2 lb. pork, ground
2 tsp. sugar (optional)
2 tsp. oregano
1 sm. can tomato paste

Brown onions, pepper, garlic and mushrooms in butter and oil. Remove. Add more oil/butter if necessary and brown meat(s). Add onion mixture. Then add salt and pepper, tomato sauce, tomato paste, stewed tomatoes, sugar and oregano. Let simmer for several hours. (Can be made the day before.)
