FILLED CUPCAKES 
1 pkg. German chocolate cake mix
8 oz. cream cheese
1 egg
1/3 c. sugar
1 c. miniature chocolate chips

Mix cake as directed on box. Beat together remaining ingredients in a separate bowl. Fill cupcake liners 1/2 to 2/3 full with cake batter. Spoon a good size glob of filling in center of each. Bake at 350 degrees for about 15 minutes. Frost with caramel frosting.

FROSTING:

4 tbsp. butter
1/2 c. brown sugar
6 tbsp. milk or half & half
2 c. powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla

Bring the first 3 ingredients to a boil. Remove from heat and beat in powdered sugar. Add vanilla and blend.
