PUMPKIN CAKE | |
1 cup brown sugar 1/2 cup white sugar 1/2 cup shortening 2 1/2 cups cake flour 3 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. baking soda 1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon 1/2 tsp. ginger 1/2 tsp. allspice 1 egg plus 2 yolks, beaten 3/4 cup sour milk 3/4 cup pumpkin Cream sugars with shortening. Mix well with remaining ingredients. Bake at 350°F for 30 to 35 minutes. Makes two 9-inch layer cakes or one 13x9x2-inch cake. Frost with favorite icing. Submitted by: BRENDA GRAY |
